We’ve had a busy season of growth at Recordly, and we’re excited to introduce some of the newest additions to our team.
This group of experts brings deep expertise across industries, technologies, and data & AI challenges. What connects them isn’t just strong technical skills, but a shared drive to build scalable, business-driven solutions that our clients like to use.
Get to know our newest Recordlians, their backgrounds, what motivates them, and a few fun facts you wouldn’t find on LinkedIn.

Jenni joined Recordly as a Senior Data & Machine Learning Engineer already in November 2025. Based in Tampere, Jenni resides with her husband, two daughters, and a miniature poodle.
Professionally, Jenni brings over seven years of consulting experience, with a strong background across retail, banking and finance, energy, and IoT data. Roughly half of her career has been spent working with retail business. She’s comfortably worked across data science, data engineering, and BI, most recently focusing on DE (data engineering) and BI (business intelligence) roles in customer projects. Not tied to a single technology or domain, Jenni enjoys variety and learning, being most hands-on in Python, Snowflake, and Power BI.
With an M.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Tampere, Jenni combines strong statistical thinking with a pragmatic, business-driven approach. Her experience spans modern cloud data platforms data modeling, machine learning, and analytics, always with the goal of building scalable solutions that actually get used.
Outside of work, Jenni is passionate about cooking (and enjoying good food), books (both reading and listening), and staying active through running, yoga, and hiking. A recent addition to her skill set is painting; four of her works hang at home, and three have already been sold, way to go!
My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
I’d like to say a short morning yoga session, but unfortunately it often doesn’t happen.
Luckily, I’ve had many amazing female colleagues during my career whose way of working and speaking about their expertise has been truly inspiring. Especially Nikky and Matilda.

Mikko recently joined Recordly as a Business Data Principal. Previously, he has spent 8+ years in consulting, working deep in group finance analytics.
Mikko has a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tampere University of Technology. Professionally, he has extensive experience building production-grade data pipelines and end-to-end data platforms in large industrial environments. He’s used to combining complex operational, financial, and logistics data into well-governed models that support performance management, cost modelling, forecasting, large-scale reporting, and AI readiness. He’s particularly at home with modern cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, ADF, Databricks, Power BI, SAP S/4HANA) and is known for building solutions that are accurate, traceable and maintainable.
Outside work, Mikko likes plot farming, cooking, as well as reading anything and everything.

Ville is in fact the fourth (!) Ville at Recordly. He’s spent the past ~5 years working primarily in data engineering, with a strong hands-on focus and a clear generalist mindset. Alongside data, Ville enjoys working across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and AI, and thrives in roles where he can build clean, end-to-end solutions without unnecessary silos. He kicked off his first Recordly project working on an AI initiative.
Ville holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Aalto University, with a focus on health technology, programming, and machine learning. Over the years, he’s worked on high-impact projects across multiple domains and regulated industries, including telecommunications and aviation. This breadth gives him a strong ability to ramp up quickly, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and navigate team dynamics with ease.
Spotting ice hockey jerseys on the wall during his Recordly interview sealed the deal, a strong signal that the culture doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Outside work, Ville enjoys sports, music, and video games. He plays and follows ball sports, does CrossFit, and follows KuPS with near-religious dedication. Gaming-wise, he frequently browses Steam only to end up launching Heroes of Might and Magic III, though completing Silksong as a parent still counts as a small personal triumph. Music has also been a long-term passion, producing electronic music with occasional finished tracks released on SoundCloud.

Risto Kainulainen joins Recordly as a Data Advisor with over a decade of experience in business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven development across multiple customer environments. His background spans real-time reporting, data modeling, and analytics, combined with deep hands-on experience in ERP implementations, business process optimization, and system integrations such as BI, CRM, and e-invoicing solutions. Risto thrives at the intersection of business and data, understanding how organizations work, identifying what truly matters in their data, and building reporting and analytics solutions that deliver business-critical insights.
Known for his practical, down-to-earth approach, Risto is comfortable taking ownership of end-to-end solutions while also enjoying close collaboration with clients and colleagues. He has a strong eye for data quality and validation, and a talent for translating complex datasets into clear, meaningful visualizations. Outside of work, Risto enjoys spending time in nature, especially fishing, outdoor life, and staying active through sports. Risto also has a background in carpentry, a craft that reflects his hands-on mindset and attention to detail.

Niko Huttu joins Recordly as a Data Engineer with a strong software engineering background and a clear drive toward building modern, business-relevant data platforms. With several years of experience in consulting roles, Niko has worked across software development, cloud infrastructure, and system design, giving him a solid understanding of how data flows through real-world architectures; from ingestion and transformation to modeling, lineage, and secure integrations. He has built his data engineering expertise through hands-on project work and continuous self-study, including completing the Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification and working extensively with Azure- and Databricks-based platforms.
Naturally curious and refreshingly direct, Niko enjoys getting close to the actual business problems data is meant to solve, something that originally pulled him from traditional software development toward the data domain. He’s motivated by building reliable, scalable solutions that deliver real value, not just good-looking diagrams. Outside of work, Niko stays busy with everything from the gym and cycling to jiu-jitsu and badminton. When he’s not training, he’s likely analyzing home-building plans, you know, the usual stuff you start doing once you hit 30.

Niko joins Recordly as a Data Engineer with a strong passion for turning technology into business value. A self-proclaimed data nerd, Niko brings experience that spans hands-on engineering, platform ownership and architecture, as well as team leadership. He’s worked closely with organizations to drive change, helping build data-driven cultures and strengthen business ownership of data. While he has experience overseeing platforms and teams, what he genuinely enjoys most is rolling up his sleeves and solving complex problems, designing thoughtful solutions, and implementing them in practice.
Niko’s technical curiosity doesn’t stop at the office either: from self-built IoT sensors to running a dedicated home server cluster with multiple services both locally and online, Niko’s enthusiasm for technology is very much a lifestyle.
On the 9th of April 2026, we're hosting a game night at our Helsinki office at which we'll play a Worms (Armageddon) tournament. This is an open event for everyone, whether you’re a seasoned player, a casual gamer, or simply curious to see what the chaos is about.
Worms is a series of artillery tactical video games developed by British company Team17. In these games, small platoons of anthropomorphic worms battle each other across a destructible landscape with the objective being to become the sole surviving team.
Worms Armageddon was originally developed as an expansion pack to Worms 2 (1997) and initially titled Wormageddon before it was released as a standalone game. As a result the game is very similar to Worms 2 but has a new single-player mode and adds a number of pieces of new content as well as being released on a wider variety of platforms. Worms Armageddon was acclaimed by critics, who praised the refined gameplay and stylized graphics, and it has been featured in a number of "greatest games of all time" lists.
